The musical conductor
Catherine Metayer was born in Châteaubriant in 1956. Her beginning in music was from her early childhood when she was member of the choir in the Cathedral of Angers. She had always been in touch permanently with singing and music so that made her awake her musical vocation and drove her to start her training in solfa and flute in the Angers Conservatory and studies in singing in the National Conservatory of the Nantes.
Her brilliant career as student was complemented by the training in musicology in the University of Tours with also plenty of courses in vocal training as well as choir and orchestra conductor studies in Germany and United Kingdom.
In 1991, after having created some other choirs of internacional prestige, she is entrusted to train musically the National Choir of Petits Cantors of Andorra. During these years she has achieved to create a stable choir and with a high quality admitted internationally. Her effort and steadfast work with Petits Cantors have given results: well-known international people in singing, like Montserrat Caballé, Montserrat Martí and the tenor Jaume Aragall, who has sponsored the Choir, have collaborated with us during these years.
In 1997 she obtained one of the most important French awards, The order in Merit.
